Shaye Hardisty
Shaye Hardisty loves textiles. She creates soft sculptures, garments, and installations to explore the complex relationship between the body, mental health, and identity. Her process is rooted in traditional craft techniques like sewing, quilting, and pattern drafting, but it’s also about confronting the vulnerabilities of making art. While she frequently feels like an imposter, Shaye finds that sharing her work is a way of connecting with others, navigating her own insecurities and gently rebelling against her own brain.Shaye Hardisty lives and creates on Gubbi Gubbi/ Kabi Kabi Land and is dedicated to ethical and sustainable textile practices with materials sourced second-hand or organically produced.
