Jordyn Sterling

Jordyn Stirling is a visual artist working within Meanjin (Brisbane). Her work is primarily rooted within feminism and derives from her own experiences as a woman. Her work investigates themes of the monstrous feminine, identity and the body. Working primarily with textiles and painting, Stirling draws on the historical associations of these mediums to create layered feminist critiques of both past and present societal issues. Her art is both intimate and confrontational,inviting reflection and evoking personal and collective discussions on gender-based issues and experiences.
