Grace Bentley

Working mainly in oil paint, Grace Lilian Bentley explores a fascination with the natural world -- people, places -- through small-scale artworks that experiment with how light is captured and reflected. Her current practice involves painting directly onto bright copper panels, allowing areas of the metal to remain exposed— this has an uncanny effect of almost bringing the artwork to life, as the surrounding light shifts and animates the shiny surface poking through. Grace has exhibited both regionally and in metropolitan galleries, and works out of her small seaside studio in Mudjimba, on the Sunshine Coast.
