Isabella Wright is an emerging artist from Melbourne/Naarm, currently making and practicing on Gubbi Gubbi grounds. Over the last twelve months, her work has focused on her appreciation for living by big bodies of water and the energies the ocean holds. Using a cyanotype process with digital manipulation by scanning, her prints reflect the vitality and spirit water encapsulates. After deferring her Bachelor of photography in 2017 and now studying her BFA (Visual Art) at QUT, Isabella’s practice embodies gestural and bodily paintings, experimental sounds art and indexical printmaking such as collage and cyanotype. In mid-2021 Isabella’s prints were featured in East London’s Crawler Zine and exhibited at the Victoria Dalston Crawler Launch alongside emerging fashion designers, musicians and artists. Her photography work explores intimate collaborations and documentations of her travels and surroundings.
