Casey Hewitt

Casey Hewitt is a 21 year old artist based on the coast in Coolum Beach. Initially painting in acrylic on canvas in after school primary classes, then in recent years exploring oils, mosaics and watercolour. For over two years now she worked as a consultant and apprentice at Sunshine Coast Art and Framing Gallery, giving an awesome opportunity to discover new styles of artworks and connect with wonderful artists.

 

Casey’s art varies from abstraction to realism, the common theme is being self reflective portraiture; recently exploring hands and shapes to depict the grasping of anxiety and the chase of contentment.

 

In 2018 she was a finalist in the Local Artists Local Contents Prize at the Caloundra Regional Gallery. Following with a highly commended award at the Immanuel Lutheran Arts Festival in 2019. Among with a few opportunity’s in shared exhibits at Red Ink Rodeo Gallery in Caloundra.
