My artwork is inspired by architecture and the personal objects within. This body of work explores the idea of attachment / repetition / process/ routine – qualities which have been directly applied to the making process of these sculptures and paintings. Through this prism I explore our personal identity in relation to culture and sense of place. I use a variety of media to express creative thoughts, such as, photography, collage, ceramics, painting, drawing and textiles, often beginning my work with observation of my environment and human behaviour, from there my installations start. I am interested in exploring the story behind the object, the connection between object and the way architecture relates to culture and holds importance within people’s lives.
